GORGEOUS couple. So in love. Beautiful afternoon. A sweet pup named Bella. All made for a fabulous and fun engagement shoot.
Congratulations, Chelsea and Paul! Thank you for trusting me with your first professional photos as a couple – you guys are amazing.
I was so excited to meet my great-niece, Isla Grace, for the first time during a trip to Michigan last week for a family wedding. This sweet baby is five months old and full of smiles, and I had just a few minutes to photograph her and her gorgeous mom (my niece Tami) during a lull in activity before the big event. Here are a few of my favorite shots:
Yuma and Marcos are expecting their first child – a boy! – and we had the perfect golden afternoon recently for a maternity photo session at Ellington Agricultural Center in Brentwood, Tenn. This lovely, joyful couple brought some fun baby props (check out the Superman pics) and were so excited about documenting this beautiful stage in their lives. One of the many reasons I love maternity photo sessions is the privilege of photographing couples in love, anticipating this next big step in their journey – and, to me, women are so beautiful during pregnancy.
Here is a sampling of images from their session. Congratulations, Yuma and Marcos! You are going to be fabulous parents.
Each summer for the past 11 years, our family has spent one schedule-less week on Dauphin Island, a barrier island off the coast of Mobile, Alabama. The beautiful, white-sand beach is not fancy, not very commercialized and – amazingly – not crowded. On this small island you’ll find a couple of low-key restaurants, an Audubon bird sanctuary for easy hiking, a sea lab and estuarium where you can view local ocean life (this year the kids were able to pet sting rays, hold hermit crabs, and touch horseshoe crabs!), fishing boats, a fresh seafood shop, an ancient stone fort where you can see a blacksmith in action, a few gift shops, an arcade and an ice cream shop.
The beach is my absolute favorite place to take photographs. The ever-changing light, the sand, waves, seagulls, dunes – they’re all so gorgeous, it’s hard to put the camera down. Here are a few photos from our vacation last week. I’m already missing the ocean!
